Ever dreamed of racing at Sebring? Ever wanted to push the outer edge of your performance and endurance envelope? Ever imagined yourself pedaling for so long that you forget where you are? Ever lost your mind?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, then join us (Dave and Mark) next February at the Bike Sebring 12-hour race/ride. What’s Bike Sebring you ask? It’s for those who aren’t quite satisfied after doing a century and think to themselves, “How far could I go in a day?”
Training begins in December. Dave says we need to do a century+ per week, building to about 160 miles. The tentative goal is 200 miles – that’s only a 16.6 mph average. Easy, right? We intend finishing as a team (in what might be the loosest sense of the term).
Qualifications? There are only two: 1) the ability to endure (I’m not sure which is worse – cycling for 12 hours or being with Dave and me for 12 hours); and 2) the ability to ride in a straight line at a consistent speed (unfortunately, this is not that widespread of a skill). Of course, it helps if you’re willing and able to do the upwind pulls.

Ideas like this are normally born under the influence.
Let’s wait a few days until Mark and Dave are sober again
